Yeah, basically, as I was saying, MPD is generally caused by trauma, in order for the mind to cope with it, it creates extra personalities, each which don't remember each other's actions, or share memories, or switch at will...they may be "triggered" by certain things, but cannot be activated by willpower...since the cause is to cope with trauma, the brain doesn't give them each other's memories...
