The first time you recruit a character in Kamidori it feels like you're getting Hawk Girl (Melodiana) on your team. So you think "Sweet! I just got a superhero on my team!" then you progress a bit more and you get some others on your team like that girl who's name I can't remember but uses magic and Batman (Crayl). So you beat the game and start a NG+.

And the honeymoon ends...

You soon realize that wait a second.. those are the worst of the superheros. You start recruiting others and soon find yourself with Green Lantern (Eukleia) and Superman (Mylen) tag teaming an entire level. I haven't even leveled my Lily/Stone Golem/Leguna team either. They might be able to carpet bomb a map 3 times as well for all I know. I don't even want to know how strong Asmodeus is. Mylen "i'm just a cute fiend" Ploa puts Ms. Grim Reaper to shame. She is most definately death incarnate (better hand over that scythe Ragsmuena).

Meanwhile, our stat capped "originals" find themselves languishing with low stat gains and an arbitrary limit on their strength till lvl 50. The final insult to injury are craptacular class changes. "We now award you the medal of lvling Crayl to 55 he gains... Anti-air III." "Congratulations!" "Only 25 more lvls before he may potentially get only small stat gains and no extra abilities to speak of!"

Oh original superheros how I lament thee!

P.S. - Anyone else horribly annoyed by this? I mean if you put in the effort it would be REALLY nice to get something for your time. Aht's basically a Cover bot anymore and Sharty can't do any damage worth a... /sigh. Melodiana is almost as bad. Elizasleign is slowly getting outgunned and she's certainly outranged. Gaptahl = lawl you're a dragon? It's suicide to send Uya out... I could on but what's the point. The stat caps killed them. NG+ stuff is designed to be taken on by NG+ characters. Deploying the originals seems to be an increase to the difficulty they're more a liability then an asset anymore.

And being someone who likes to keep his character lvls somewhat close.. it really, really sucks.

The only ones who realy suffer from low statsgain are suina, crayl and aht.
The other normal character can more or less do the job.
Also the stats problem grows irrelevant after getting the founten of youth.
More of a problem are the ultimate weapons, where aht's give nearly nothing, except high stats, gapthal's makes him nearly immortal.

Btw. from alle the mages you get Elizasleyn, Hakuren and Emelita are taking the top 3 in raw dmg power.
Sharty is one of the few character's who grow immortal in the lategame thx to blooduck 3.(If her weapon only would do omnidmg)

From my perspective yuela is by far a greater problem because she outdoes nearly every other character till lategame in offensive and deffensive power and even than there are not many who can keep up with her.

The only NG+ Char I used until end-game was Mylen, I didn't mess with the mascots or Lily/Leguna/Golem. I pretty much just used Wil, Emelita, Yuela, and a few others every map to keep them fairly leveled. Most of the reason I used Mylen was her sword use, Explosive Barrage (fire against advent bay ftw), and 2 equipment slots for my Tear and Mill. I found my original chars were just fine.. At the end of the NG+ I got all but 3 or 4 of my chars transmigrated and leveled them all to about 45-ish.
The first game chars are just fine; in fact, any char is just fine, so long as you use them. On my first game I kept all the guys fairly equal leveled, on my second I just didn't really care as much and stuck to my Wil/Yuela/Emelita combo mainly and killed everything.
Also realize that getting any single character transmigrated and at about 50 (so.. level 150?) and they can generally solo anything.

Transmigration makes low stat gains moot. And You can use Marwen's Necklace to boost stat gains.

And use Meteorites to fill whatever gaps are left.
(As an example, I very much doubt you'll be able to get Asmodeus' Luck to max with Transmigration only, at least within any reasonable amount of time...)

Well NG+ have still the levels on Yuidora Mines where you can only deploy first game's party members. I think these levels are harder than 90+ dungeons (unless you want to spend a lot of time leveling them, which I didn't), so you can't really totally neglect those chars.

About the main point of the thread, the only thing I didn't like about characters is how totally useless are the last ones you get on 1st game (Para, Eliza, Gapt). Plot-wise they seemed incredible, but when you get them they totally suck. Even if the others has been owned in NG+ by NG+ characters they still managed to be useful for all first game, but I really couldn't find a use for those three.

@Raz, I can see where you're coming from, but any unit that you end up leveling to 80 has always been more than enough to kill the enemies in 90 areas (at least for me); I also leveled each char I actually used to 80 throughout the storyline easily enough. With a group of about 5 or so of the level 80 chars you can clear the 90 dungeons.
I also find leveling a char to 99 is extremely easy.

Put Training Bracelet on Mylen and Asmo puts on Mercy.
Get char you want leveled.
Attack things to 1 HP w/ Mylen and Asmo.
Deal 1 damage with other char.
Level up.

Each kill is a level up, 2 if you have 4 demeter gems (for the heroines). So you only need to kill about 100 guys to go from 1-93.
Then just farm Melkaveils and the Zielritter in the special arena M for the last six levels (since they only give about 2 less exp.)
Then just transmigrate or stat cap w/ meteorites.

Though even that quintet has a weakness, if the enemy happens to have Seal (like in Advent Bay) or Projectile Defense (like in Mirage Forest) you might find Serawi most useful with her weapon unequipped, and Emelita just a lot less useful...

You still have Yuela, Mylen and Lily to kill all the ones w/ Seal/Proj. Def.
