 English Patch Problem
Sorry, i've seen this topic posted several times, but without any solution that's fixed mine.. I'm using the japanese locale, and while the installers function oddly, I still am able to run the .exe file and play the japanese version just fine. I've tried renaming the folders, and moved the english patcher into the same folder as the .exe file, but when I run the search it can't find the file it's looking for. I'm at a loss, I've disabled avg, that's the only antivirus I have running.

 Re: English Patch Problem
Please explain in detail what you mean by "the installer functions oddly". Maybe it failed to install certain files.

 Re: English Patch Problem
The installer loads some items, than it the green bar stays at about 1% and it just stops loading anything even after a good period of time. When I go to install the other game files kami_01 etc. they also install some files and then go to an 'installer is already running' and close themselves out, which might just mean it's already done what it needs to.. the game is playable after the install though, so why can't it patch?

 Re: English Patch Problem
By Japanese locale do you mean via the control panel or via applocale?
If it's via applocale, try to change your settings via the control panel(should be under region/keyboard/language settings)
If it's via control panel, uninstall the whole game, restart your computer, reinstall it and restart after every append maybe? I'm unsure if the appends affect the registry but I tend to run into conflict issues if i don't restart when installing addons for other games.

 Re: English Patch Problem
It's via the control panel through system locale, I haven't had any issues like that before, but i'll give it a shot, couldn't hurt to try, thanks, i'll see what happens

 Re: English Patch Problem
I had a similar issue when I tried installing via AppLocale. When I actively switched my computer to Japanese (in Control Panel), it installed without problem.
Maybe try giving it a different install location? (One with less sub-folders maybe?)

 Re: English Patch Problem
Also not a bad idea.. I see the english patcher searching through all the other files in the programs(86x) folder, but it seems to skip over the one with the game installed, either that or it just goes by so fast you don't see it

 Re: English Patch Problem
Don't install things that need 3rd-party patches (like games with mods) etc. in the "Progam Files (x86)" directory. That's just asking for trouble with UAC and that crap.
Also, regarding System Locale, you should only need to reboot when you actually change it. If you tried installing without rebooting after changing to Japanese, then you would have problems.

 Re: English Patch Problem
What directory would you suggest? I could see that being an issue, the computer was rebooted after the system locale change. The additional reboots between each insured the installers didn't overlap because they sometimes stayed running. The installs seemed to go fine this time, no problems at all, I did do a double check on the antiv, so that might've helped. http://s1051.photobucket.com/albums/s43 ... idori7.pngThis is what my directory consists of after doing the installs, just want to know if it looks the way it should, the english patch still isn't finding the files it needs :/ did go back and change the folder with the japanese text to something different as well) Also getting this when I try loading the game unpatched.. http://s1051.photobucket.com/albums/s43 ... idori8.png

 Re: English Patch Problem
IIRC, you have to copy the English patcher itself in the game directory before running it.

 Re: English Patch Problem
Mine worked fine from my random download folder.
Moving it into the same folder as the install can't hurt though.

 Re: English Patch Problem
It works! The install was almost painful though, I couldn't get the appends to install correctly unless I ran them twice for each one. I checked back and I only had 3/4 of the uninstallers before I guess. It is in program files 86x (even after changing the install destination) and the japanese text is still there, but it works fine, from what I can tell so far.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions everyone!

 Re: English Patch Problem
Ha, so no real cause other than wonky installations?
Well, at least the game works for you. Enjoy yourself!
