 English patch won't recognize game

Post English patch won't recognize game
Greetings,

as stated the english patch won't recognize the properly installed game. All patches are applied, and the raw version runs flawlessly. Yeah there are 4 uninstall files and CCleaner shows the patches too. I reinstalled the game 3 times already and everytime the english patch would tell me, that it couldn't find the installed game. I renamed the japanese folder into english and installed it every time into a different folder too. I even deleted registry value related to the game although I'm not sure if i was able to find all of them. I'm at my limits now of what I can do.

Is there a way to force the patch? What bothers me is, that after i uninstall the game the files will still remain and I have to delete them manually despite the system stating game is uninstalled. Even the Intro video will play

Is there anyone out there who knows what to do? Help is greatly appreciated. btw thx for the nice release it's a pity i can't play it yet.

did you put the translation patch into the installation folder?

also, check if the age.exe file is present. this is the games main executable and the patch uses it to find the installation. sometimes this file gets deleted by anti-viral software without warning you.

thx for reply. yeah age exe is there i switched antivir off. patch is in same folder too. II really don't know what to do. I read all the forums and did every single step. dunno, seems I can't play the game at all. I'm sure it's something registry related cuz every time the patch searches it takes a while when it finds kamidori, but then it goes on without installing.

it won't work if you have Japanese text in the folder name - I had the same problem.

I have the same problem.
The patch is in the game folder but it don't find the game.
I play with the Version 2.00.0019 of Kamidori.

Did you find a solution ?

@ Laharl

nope, didn't find a solution yet. I'll try it again next weekend without renaming game folder in english. I'll leave it just as it is. Also I'm going through the registry again an deleting all values related to the game. CCleaner is a great help here. If this doesn't help I'll just abandon it.

Like socix explained I'll only change the root folder and leave the rest untouched.

I had the same problem. The problem was slightly worse because, even if I set a directory for it, it would add the lengthy default game directory name to wherever I designated. So I had to

1) Designate a location without any kanji
2) When it asked (when leaving that step) if it could create a directory, tell it no.

This made it install everything into the directory I selected, so make sure it's your Kamidori directory, not your Eushully directory or whatever.

Since then, smooth sailing.

I try to rename the "神採りアルケミーマイスター" folder in "Kamidori" but when I try the patch, it doesn't ask where I want to install it, it just search (and doesn't find) the game.

I need to reinstall the game to change the directory ?

I share the same problem and followed the instructions everyone left.

Made sure antivirus was shut down before installing and applying any patches.

-Japanese Locale
-Installed into a directory without any Kanji in name
-Applied kami_ap01.exe
-Applied kami_ap02.exe
-Applied kami_200.exe

Directory name does not have any kanji in name.
Attempted to run the English patcher from the game directory and from desktop.
-Both cases end with the Software not found message

Windows Vista 64

Game runs fine, but cannot get the English patcher to find the game. :(

--Managed to get it to work!
Posting what I did in hopes it helps someone else.

I ran ap01 and ap02 again to uninstall them, then used the 200 file.
A whole bunch of files appeared in the installed directory.
Then I ran the ap01 and ap02.
Copied the patcher into the directory with the executable and it ran instantly without searching!

Strange part is I let the installer make a kanji directory and all the patches worked without renaming anything.

Thanks for the translation!
